Workshops and training for the cultural and creative industries in the Ruhr Metropolis

Are you creative, do you have an idea and want to implement it in the cultural and creative industries in the Ruhr region? The Business Metropole Ruhr offers you a workshop program that is specially tailored to your needs.

In six different workshops, we support you in optimizing your start-up idea in order to get off to a successful start. Whether you want to start your own business, reorient yourself or expand your creative business, we have the right offer for you.

Qualification offers fresh knowledge and exciting contacts

Together, we will take your ideas and expertise to the next level. We have brought experts on board with whom we will be offering a series of workshops and seminars in 2024.

These workshops are suitable for you if you have a creative business idea and are interested in starting your own business, are self-employed or are a graduate.

1: Business model development for creatives

Date: March 20, 2024
2 pm until 6 pm, Kronprinzenstraße 30, 45128 Essen

Here you will get an overview of different business models and learn about various creative tools for business model development and further development. After the workshop, you will be able to visualize and develop your own idea. After this initial introduction, you will receive tips on how you can pursue your goal and which partners in the region can support you in your next steps.

4: Strategic network building for creative start-ups

Date: May 22, 2024

A good network is particularly important in the creative industry. Good networking allows you to benefit from the projects, plans and knowledge of others. Here you will learn how to strategically expand your network, who you need and where you can find these people without losing track.

5: AI boost for the creative industries

Date: September 4, 2024
2 pm until 6 pm, Kronprinzenstraße 30, 45128 Essen

Lose or gain - how can creative professionals use AI for themselves? In this workshop, you will learn what new opportunities AI offers for your work and productivity, how to use the tools correctly and what challenges you need to be aware of.

  • Teaching of theoretical and methodological basics
  • Introduction to the most important AI tools and concrete use of the tools with everyday examples from your marketing team
  • Structured evaluation of opportunities and risks
  • Development of a roadmap on how you can introduce AI in a structured way and use it for marketing

Speakers: Hans Piechatzek is Managing Director at the agency move:elevator, where he heads up the areas of creation, strategy and digitalization. Julian Peters works as Business Designer & Innovation Consultant at move:elevator.

6: Finances under control for creative founders

Finance is also one of the most important basics in the creative sector. Even without a background in business administration, you will learn budgeting, building up reserves, sales planning and pricing - so that your finances don't cause you any headaches.

The individual events can be booked separately. You can register here. For a contribution towards expenses of EUR 20.00 including VAT per workshop, you will receive new knowledge, exciting contacts and catering.

A few days after you have confirmed your registration, we will send you an invoice for each workshop you have selected. We ask you to pay this invoice at least 14 days before the date of the event. Your participation will only be confirmed after receipt of payment. If you cancel in writing at least three days before the date of the event, we will refund the full amount. Please note that the number of participants is limited.
