The Ruhr.Innovationspartner project aims to optimise innovation structures and innovation consulting in the Ruhr metropolitan area. Providers and offers of the innovation network are to be rendered more visible for municipalities and companies, with the quality of offers enhanced and participation in innovation activity increased.

20 partners have come together in the Ruhr metropolitan area to work towards strengthening innovation structures. Partners include municipal business development bodies, chambers of industry and commerce as well as chip GmbH of Bochum.

In its capacity as co-ordinator Business Metropole Ruhr GmbH undertakes the central guiding role, as well as organising workshops and events. Ruhr.Innovationspartner began in February 2017, for a duration of 18 months.

The project is funded from the NRW.Innovationspartner programme in the scope of the “Mittelstandsinitiative Forschungsförderung”, a research project for Mittelstand companies. Overriding project goals are the strengthening of regional innovation structures and increasing the quality of innovation consulting in the areas of innovation management, funding consulting and technology transfer. The exchange of experience between all economic regions of North Rhine-Westphalia and support of the regions through a NRW.Bank back office form part of the project.
