Greentech.Ruhr is a network of innovative companies, research and educational institutions as well as various public institutions in the environmental industry.
The Metropole Ruhr is characterised by decades of experience in the transformation from a mining industry to a leading region for environmental economics. The challenge is to productively manage the legacy of mining and heavy industry. Currently on the agenda are programmes for the ecological restructuring of neighbourhoods and waters, concepts for renewable energies, modern mobility concepts and ways for more climate-friendly business models in the sense of circular value creation. The Ruhr Area's leading role in the environmental economy results from this long experience and know-how in dealing with environmental problems, as well as the high density of research institutes, well-trained environmental specialists and the innovative companies based here.
In order to master the increasing challenges in the field of environmental protection, increased cooperation between all players in the environmental economy in the Metropole Ruhr is required.
The Greentech.Ruhr project is facing up to precisely this task - namely the networking of local companies, educational and research institutions in order to further promote the innovation potential in the field of environmental economics within the Ruhr area. Greentech.Ruhr presents the region as well as partners at trade fairs, conferences and workshops and brings their strengths to the table via various formats. Partners of the Greentech.Ruhr network benefit from specific offers to expand and secure expertise on topics such as innovation transfer, skilled workers and digitalisation. The presentation of the Metropole Ruhr as a leading location for the environmental industry is always the focus of attention.
