No MIPIM in Cannes in 2020
Update: The international real estate fair MIPIM had initially been postponed to June, but now this date has also been cancelled. It will now only take place in September, in a format shortened to two days in Paris, as the organiser Reed-Midem announces on its website. "It is clear that holding a major Mipim trade fair in Cannes in June is not feasible given the rapid spread, devastating impact and uncertain development of the virus," said Filippo Rean, Real Estate Division Director at Reed Midem.
Conferences, network meetings and award ceremonies are planned in Paris. In addition, an online service called Mipim Connect will be launched in April. The platform is free of charge for people who have registered for Mipim 2020 and will contain "a range of thought leadership content, networking and business tools", said Reed Midem.
Mipim plans to return to Cannes in 2021. The next edition of the international real estate fair is scheduled to take place in southern France from 16 to 19 March 2021.
The MIPIM connects investors, cities, brokers or city planners from all over the world. Since 1990, the fair has continued to grow, not only because the real estate business has become a strong economic factor, but also because it is central to urban development. This year, more than 26,000 representatives of companies and politics from all over the world had been registered.
