New urban districts on old brownfield sites, future-oriented commercial areas, large development projects close to the city centre: projects that shape urban change in a sustainable and growth-oriented way are presented by the Ruhr metropolis at MIPIM 2022. This year, the international real estate fair in Cannes is entitled "Driving Urban Change". After two years of Corona interruption, around 17,000 investors and trade visitors from all over the world will travel to Cannes. The cities of Bochum, Duisburg and Essen will present their top projects together with the Business Metropole Ruhr at the international real estate fair MIPIM from 15 to 18 March.
New facades and neighborhoods, completely new locations have already been created in recent years. From Phoenixsee in Dortmund to Stölting Harbor in Gelsenkirchen and Duisburg's Inner Harbor. In Essen, a new entrée to the city center is growing around the Königshof. Former commercial and industrial sites are also being filled with new life, such as Mark 51°7 in Bochum or Parkstadt in Mülheim an der Ruhr. The Ruhr region of today is characterized by the fact that modern working and living are possible in ever new places. The diversity of the polycentric Ruhr metropolis offers many opportunities for the real estate industry.
