appealing new building reinterprets the old town
In terms of urban development and architecture, the new Stiftsquartier in Dortmund-Hörde forms an attractive address for a mixed use of retail, gastronomy, residential and services in the direct vicinity of Lake Phoenix. It functions as an important link between the old town of Hörde and the area around the lake. The multiple structured facades using high-quality materials such as clinker bricks and natural stone interpret the Wilhelminian style buildings of the old town in a modern way. The attractive new building, for which the old Stiftforum was demolished, consists of a residential and commercial complex.
The multi-storey office building, which faces Faßstrasse, will provide flexible office space in various sizes from 400 m2 to a maximum of 6,300 m2, offering both young and established companies plenty of room for creativity and growth. Retail space for foodstuffs with an integrated market hall concept, gastronomy and a wine shop with a sommelier are planned for the ground floor. The building's own underground car park has 327 parking spaces. Through changes in the facade, balconies, loggias and window formats, the residential complex with its 58 units and the enclosed inner courtyard is recognisable as an independent part of the building. The residential development meets all the requirements of modern, intergenerational living.
