Neue Mitte Baukau in Herne

Where the ball once rolled, a modern residential and commercial centre is being built in two phases in the Baukau district of Herne. Thus, the 24,500 m² site of a former sports facility for football is being transformed into a modern, new supply area - the Neue Mitte Baukau, called "Quartier Kaiserstraße". The building ensemble of the business centre has a retail area of 5,250 m2 on the ground floor, for which a full-range grocer, a drugstore, a discounter and a small gastronomy unit are planned. The upper floors have approx. 1,725 m² of practice space and approx. 4,000 m² of office space. The division of the respective areas is flexible and can be arranged in a variety of ways. In addition, the property will have a green roof area above the retail areas, which invites visitors to linger and offers a high quality of stay. An additional exit from the adjacent office and practice buildings will also lead onto the green oasis of the roof. Furthermore, parking facilities as well as a market place are planned on the site.

The residential centre is being built in a second construction phase in the south of the site and consists of four further modern storey buildings. The quarter thus scores not only with its central location in the Baukau district, but also with a mix of uses oriented towards daily life and work.
