Fokus Development is planning to build a seven-story commercial building with office, restaurant and service space at the site of the former municipal library on Düsseldorfer Straße. For the first floor, AOK Rheinland/Hamburg has concluded a lease agreement for approx. 1,700 m2. In addition, offices are planned on the remaining floors with an area of approx. 9,500 m2. Fokus Development AG will also move into one of the office spaces in the new building. Fokus is also pressing ahead with the development of the site opposite on Börsenstrasse. On this site, the Verwaltungs-Berufsgenossenschaft (VBG) will construct a six-story office and administration building and use the building as its new Duisburg district administration upon completion. Together, the two buildings will become one of the top addresses for inner-city office space as the "Torhäuser an der Düsseldorfer Straße". The future redevelopment of Börsenstrasse will significantly upgrade this parallel run to Königstrasse in terms of urban development and make it more attractive. The investment volume of the overall development is around 100 million euros.
