A special focus of the new building is on aspects of sustainability. The corresponding features include solar panels on the roof as well as electric charging stations for cars and e-bikes and heating of the storage areas by air-source heat pumps. At a minimum, the project aims for certification to the DGNB Gold Standard and will include several features in line with the international WELL Building concept. Sustainable diversified outdoor planting and façade greening will create new habitats for flora and fauna biodiversity, which in turn will provide high-quality recreational areas for employees. A new drainage concept contributes to the enhancement of the entire industrial park. The sustainable construction method helps keep operating costs low for customers and ensures that the property retains its value over the long term.

Prologis Park Bottrop is conveniently located in the center of the Ruhr region. It is located southeast of the city center, directly on the A42 highway with good access to the A2 and B224. The port of Duisburg is only 30 minutes away. In addition, the logistics facility is well connected to public transport - employees can get directly to the site by bus and in less than ten minutes to the main train station in Bottrop, which is about one kilometer away. In the Ruhr conurbation, more than 5 million people are within easy reach. Prologis is expected to develop the property speculatively. Completion of the buildings is scheduled for the third quarter of 2024. Rental space is currently still available.
