Construction work on the new Novitas BKK building in Quartier 1 in Duisburg began in June 2022. In the immediate vicinity of Duisburg's main train station, more than 80 percent of the 11,500 square meters of office space in the new building will be occupied by Novitas BKK at the end of 2024. The sixth floor can still be rented.
Within eight years, an office and service park has been created next to Duisburg Central Station with the property for the State Office for the Environment, Nature and Consumer Protection (LANUV), the new Duisburg office building for the University of Police and Public Administration (HSPV) and the extension currently under construction for the HSPV, the almost completed Duisburg Central Office (DCO) and the building for Novitas BKK. The neighborhood is rounded off by a B&B hotel and the neighborhood parking garage. Aurelis is aiming for gold DGNB certification for the building. The building includes an underground parking garage with a total of 177 parking spaces, some of which have e-charging columns, as well as a bicycle room with charging points for e-bikes. The general contractor for the project is HOCHTIEF. The construction company is now realizing the fourth project in Duisburg's Quartier 1.
