MED 360°

An outstanding project with commercial use and a medical focus is being built on an approximately 17,500 m2 site at the corner of Herner Straße and Rensing Straße in Bochum-Riemke. The medical service provider Med 360° and the Grönemeyer Institute will operate a medical care center here, which represents a further enrichment of the health care location Bochum in terms of content.

This ambitious project convinces with its coherent urban design, which significantly upgrades the site of a former furniture store that has been lying fallow for years and sets positive impulses with high charisma beyond Bochum. Construction work on the complex with 16,000 m2 of usable floor space began in the 2nd quarter of 2022. In the first construction phase, a new building with around 7,000 m2 of usable space and a parking garage will be built. The well-known Grönemeyer Institute will move in there as early as 2023. Med 360° will set up departments for radiology, orthopedics and physiotherapy as well as a medical supply store in this interdisciplinary health center. With around 200 employees, approximately 500 patients will be cared for daily at this location in the future.

The overall ensemble will create an urban square with a high quality of life between the first and third buildings. The theme of health is reflected here both in the services and in the building design. The entire building project is determined by sustainable as well as ecological aspects. The roof and exterior design takes into account the aspects of air purification, heat regulation and biodiversity. In the two further construction phases, two neighboring buildings with 3,000 and 6,000 m2 of floor space will be built. The site is located on a main traffic axis, but well outside the city center. The optimal connection to the neighboring subway line, the existing bicycle path network of the city of Bochum and the nearby highway access provide optimal accessibility for employees and patients. The construction project adds an additional axis to the hot spots of commercial settlements on Mark 51°7 and creates a further connection to the Ruhr University Bochum and its facilities.
