As a regional economic development agency, the Business Metropole Ruhr (BMR) represents and bundles the interests of 53 municipalities. We are in constant dialogue with our stakeholders. Moderation between the interest groups, the preparation of position papers and strategy concepts as well as the definition of requirements for a successful regional structural policy in the interest of the municipalities are part of our tasks.

Together with our partners, we pursue the goal of increasing the utilisation of public funding in the Ruhr Metropolis. In doing so, the BMR performs a coordinating and moderating function. It continues to develop contacts with the governments in North Rhine-Westphalia, the federal government and the European Union, passes on regional concerns in a bundled form, provides information and works towards efficient funding and knowledge management.
